I have been writing a lot lately with some really great writers: Sandy Ramos,
Steve Dean, and Kris Burgesnes to name a few. Most of the songs we are writing
are for my project, but every now and then one comes out that might not be exactly
my style BUT its still a great song. Sometimes it might be too similar
to one that I have already written, or maybe I think it would be a good pitch
for another artist. I usually write about three or four days a week.
It all depends on everyone’s schedules!!! Mostly with my influences, I like a strong
groove and melody, and really creative lyrics. I like my music to be a bit
unusual, at least to where it will stand out from other songs and music.
Anyway, please go to my media player and check out some of my songs.
I am a co-writer on all of them. I hope ya’ll enjoy. As far as the record labels go, we are starting to hit them now. Before you go, you have to have all of your "package" together. Now that we have the songs, the bio, and pictures, we are set. I am so ready and so excited about this. This is the most exciting and nerve-wrecking part of the whole process. It is every artist's dream, to get a recording contract, but don't be fooled, it is a lot of work and preparation. I am just glad to be able to have the opportunity to be here in Nashville and pursue my dream! I am also in the middle of shopping for a publishing deal. This is where I would actually get paid to write songs! How sweet is that, getting paid to do something that you LOVE!!! This kinda ties in with my first point about songwriting and such. There are so many great writers here in Nashville that I have met, that when I was younger I performed their songs or sung along with them on the radio. That is an awesome feeling to meet someone you idolized when you were young. Like the record deal, you have to have your package together for your publishing deal as well. "Gotta have all your ducks in a row," as the saying goes. We have a CD of 6 or 7 of what we think are some of my best works. We show these to the publishing companies and hope they get interested. As with the record deal, I will be keeping all of you updated as things go along!! Playing live is something that I LOVE to do - My band, the Sammi Moore band (original name huh?) plays around 60 or so shows a year. We have played everything from motor-cross rallies and drag boat races to bars and opening for Big & Rich. The summer is our big season because of all the fairs and festivals that go on. The winter is usually a slower time for us, that's why there are limited shows on our "Live" page. But keep checking back because I will be listing when I'll be playing at writer's nights around town, and any other events that come up. If you can make it out to a show, I would love to meet you. I promise you will have a good time! Don't forget to join my mailing list on the front page! That way you will be notified whenever something happens or there is any "breaking" news! Thanks! |
